Unfortunately, even when the historical truth is exposed, it becomes very difficult for someone to acknowledge that their national identity is not what they've beleived it was all their life. People make great sacrifices in the name of their country, and we cannot expect someone to give up their own national identity overnight. It takes time to come to grips with the truth, and some never will. The historical truth, however, must prevail in the end. I hope for the sake of history, and national identity of both Greece and its northern neighbor, that the name Macedonia stays where it belongs -- with Greece. Anything else will confuse historical truths, and create problems where there shouldn't be any.
